5 NBA Players Who Could Join The Brooklyn Nets This Season

The Brooklyn Nets are slowly but surely making the pieces of their roster fit together. Last week, they signed NBA star Gerald Wallace to a four-year, $40 million deal. At the same time, they signed former Atlanta Hawks star Joe Johnson, who will play for Brooklyn at the small forward position. With Wallace and Johnson in the fold, the Nets are now ready to start putting pieces around the core of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Deron Williams, and Joe Johnson.

Before the Nets acquired D’Angelo Russell this summer, the point guard position was already in flux. Isaiah Whitehead has been in the picture for a while now, but his status as a 24-year-old rookie isn’t ideal. The team will likely choose to change the point guard spot this season as a whole to make room for two stars.

The Brooklyn Nets are in search of a big man to surround Deron Williams at the point guard spot; it’s not the first time the Nets have done this, but the team still needs a big man to step up in the paint. There are two options, both in the post. The first is Brook Lopez, who would have to waive his early termination option to be eligible to be traded. The second is Jason Collins, formerly of the Boston Celtics. The former will be the cheaper option, due to the fact that Lopez is making $13 million this season. But, would Collins be willing to waive his early termination option in order to come to the Nets? That’s one question to be answered.. Nets free agents

The Brooklyn Nets will undoubtedly be aiming to win the NBA title next season, and with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden all on the team, they should have a decent chance of doing so.

While having a lot of star power is a fantastic approach to improve your chances of winning a championship, having excellent depth choices is also important. Even the tiniest donations can make a difference. With that in mind, here are five players that may join the Brooklyn Nets and help them fill out their bench.

Avery Bradley is number five.

Avery Bradley has established himself as a capable 3 and D guard. He’d be ideal for a club that needs a perimeter defensive stopper. While he didn’t have the greatest shooting season of his career, Avery Bradley hit 36.4 percent from outside the arc in the 2019-20 season.

If Avery Bradley is able to regain his form, he may be a valuable contributor for the Brooklyn Nets. He is presently a free agent and would be a terrific option in limited minutes.

Goran Dragic is number four.

Goran Dragic Apologizes After His Comments About Toronto Raptors: 'They've Won A Championship And I Didn't, So What I Said, It Really Was Not Appropriate.'

Goran Dragic was part of the deal that sent Kyle Lowry to the Miami Heat in exchange for Goran Dragic. It’s conceivable that the Raptors will buy him out, enabling him to go on to another team. As a veteran on the minimum, the Brooklyn Nets are definitely one of the more attractive clubs to join.

Goran Dragic has spent the past several years on the bench for the Miami Heat, and there’s no question that he can still be a strong player even if he isn’t a starter. He’s a competent ballhandler and shooter who can contribute offensively off the bench. Dragic would be a great match for the Nets’ bench, which is in desperate need of a scoring guard.

JJ Redick (#3)

JJ Redick is a great three-point shooter, and a team can never have enough of them. Redick hit 37.1 percent from beyond the arc in the 2020-21 season, and there’s little doubt that he’ll be regarded by defenders on the perimeter.

Having a knockdown shooter next to three stars is usually a good idea, since someone must be able to knock down the open shots that they create. For the Brooklyn Nets, JJ Redick could certainly fill that position. JJ Redick has already said that he is open to joining a club in New York, and it is possible that he will choose the Nets.

Coming back from an Achilles injury, John Wall has had a mixed season. His baseline statistics are excellent, averaging 20.6 points per game and 6.9 assists per game. However, his efficiency was below average (40.4/31.7/74.9 splits), and he dominated usage for the Houston Rockets, one of the league’s weakest teams this season.

In order for the Brooklyn Nets to sign John Wall, the Houston Rockets would have to buy out his contract. Maybe he’ll be the next former All-Star to join the Brooklyn Nets if he can improve his efficiency and effectiveness despite playing in a lesser position behind James Harden and Kyrie Irving.

Kevin Love is number one.

The New York Times is the source for this information.

Kevin Love hasn’t had the greatest season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but a move to the Brooklyn Nets, a contender, may help him resurrect his career. Kevin Love’s shooting skills as a big man may make him a valuable contributor to the club, as he made 36.5 percent of his outside shots on 6.2 attempts.

While Kevin Love’s greatest days are undoubtedly behind him, he remains a valuable veteran who understands what it takes to win a title. He’d have to obtain a buyout from the Cleveland Cavaliers to go elsewhere, however. Though it has been claimed that “no discussions” between Love and the Cavaliers have taken place, it is possible that they may in the future. If this happens, Kevin Love could become a ring-chasing veteran for the Brooklyn Nets.

The Brooklyn Nets have a new head coach. He has a plan, he has a team, and he has a lot of money to spend on athletes. The starting point for the Nets franchise is to make a splash in free agency. In a few months, Brooklyn will have a brand new roster as the Nets will look to reshape their organization as a result of the haul from the New Jersey Nets. One of those players will be, as of today, the starting point guard for the Nets.. Read more about brooklyn nets lineup and let us know what you think.
