Ex-Chiefs Safety Bernard Pollard Attempting NFL Comeback

Former security chief Bernard Pollard

A former top official of the Kansas City Chiefs is trying to make a comeback in the NFL – but it’s not Eric Berry. According to NFL reporter Dov Clayman, former Chiefs second-round pick Bernard Pollard isn’t retired yet and is making a serious offer to return to the field next season.

I just spoke with former Ravens guard Bernard Pollard, Clayman tweeted Friday. The Super Bowl champion is retiring from the NFL after 6 seasons. He will play for 220 pounds. He is healthy and looking forward to the game. He’s already talked to KC about coming back.

In a follow-up tweet, Kleiman also noted that even though the Chiefs were at 23. In March, veteran Daniel Sorensen signed a one-year contract and the team told Pollard they would get back to him in the near future.

Instead, they decided to re-contract Daniel Sorensen, but told him they would get back to him in the near future.

Pollard first reported his interaction with Kansas City on Twitter on Wednesday.

Purdue came out for the Chiefs in 2006, where he scored 199 tackles, nine interceptions, four forced fumbles and three interceptions in 48 games (31 starts) in his first three seasons. He led the team to a dismal 2-14 campaign in 2008 before being fired on September 5, 2009 – eight days before Kansas City’s season opener.

He spent two seasons with the Houston Texans (2009-10), Baltimore Ravens (2011-12) and Tennessee Titans (2013-14). In total, his resume includes 712 tackles, 49 interceptions, 12 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles and 10.5 sacks. Pollard is now 36 years old and hasn’t had an NFL shutout since the fifth round of the 2014 season, his last game before a torn Achilles tendon ended his year and ultimately his career.

Earlier this week, Pollard shared a few indoor workout videos on Twitter to his more than 50,000 followers with the hashtag #TheReturn.

One video even got support from former Ravens and Titans teammate Michael Oher, who responded by saying that 99.9 percent of these clowns were never the best in the world at what they did !!!!. Don’t stop!!! ! !
