Alternative John Lewis Christmas advert has entire nation mourning

John Lewis’ iconic Christmas commercial hasn’t appeared on our screens yet, but another Sam Clegg YouTube commercial has already made the whole nation cry.

A heartbreaking – and worthless – advertisement tells the story of the man and his dog.

The alternative ad with Sam’s father has been clicked more than a million times since Sam posted it on YouTube last week.

In an interview with Fabulous Digital, YouTuber explained that he had collected the video with an old camera he had found nearby.

The reason for this is that he wanted to raise money for urgently needed charities and that all proceeds will go to the elderly at Christmas.

This song/update is dedicated to all those who faced challenges in 2020, Sam started.

This story is a loss and sadness that some viewers may find disturbing, but with this clip/campaign we hope to turn the negative into a positive by donating all the benefits of the song to the many charities that older people in the UK support!

The concept of Christmas for John Lewis has been abandoned to show the connection between man and dog.

This popular advertisement starts with an image of the bond between man and his beloved dog Bruno.

You can see the duo counting down the days before Christmas with their individual community calendars as they open presents and eat ground meat pies.

But everything takes an emotional turn when one person and Bruno walk in the snow.

Bruno runs away and disappears, and a few days after his master has searched the area, he even puts up posters with runaway dogs.

The ad may have an emotional and tragic ending after the owner found Bruno’s necklace in the exhibition, but Sam wanted to emphasize how difficult it can be for the elderly and vulnerable at this time of year.

Inspired by Sir Captain Tom Moore’s charitable efforts to raise money for the NHS, Sam added that every 79p purchase will help those most in need in 2020.

John Lewis may be the last person to run a Christmas commercial, but there are still a lot of commercials that give us comfort.

So far, Aldy, Asda, Disney, Amazon, TK Max, Argos and Very have published their Christmas ads.
