The Book of Boba Fett Is Coming December 2021 to Disney+

Season two of Mandalorean just ended with a bomb. Warn everyone who hasn’t looked yet, because there will be huge spoilers. You continue on this basis at your own risk!

In the post-credit scene it is revealed that Boba Fett has returned to the old palace of Jabba and stole the throne together with Shand Fenneca. Then the title card appears, with the promise that Boba Fett’s book will be published in December 2021. In fact, we finally have a series Boba Fett.

POWERFUL : The Mandalorian director thinks Baby Grogu might be on the dark side.

Boba Fett, played by Temuera Morrison, who originally played Django Fett in Attack of the Clones, has been seen alongside Pedro Pascal in Mando this season. Fett played a major role in several episodes, including the season finale 2. However, it is not yet known what role the fans’ favorite bounty hunter will play in the future franchise. The post-credit scene inevitably shows that next year there will be a lot more to get out of the character.

Rumours about a Boba Fett solo project have been going around for months, although they have never been confirmed by the management of Lucasfilm. Disney recently held a major presentation day for investors and announced a number of projects for Disney+, as well as a Squadron of Thieves film directed by Patty Jenkins. These include Aosoka, New Republic Rangers, Acolytes, Lando and Visions, joining the previously announced Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi exhibitions. It seems that they wanted to keep the Boba Fett Book Announcement as a small reward for the fans who were there for the credits.

The project is likely to answer questions that Star Wars fans have been asking for years. Before the character returned to Mandalorean, we had not seen him since the end of the return of the Jedi. Boba Fett was last seen falling into the Sarlacc pit. It hasn’t even been confirmed that he survived the descent into the belly of the beast. Looks like we’ll find out not only how he survived, but what Boba Fett has been doing ever since.

On several occasions Lucasfilm has tried to make a Boba Fett film. Originally, Josh Trank (The Fantastic Four) was to direct the film. There was even a teaser for the announcement at the Star Wars 2015 celebration. However, this version has been thrown away. A few years later James Mangold (Logan) joined the project. However, after the disappointment of Solo at the box office, Disney and Lucasfilm started to reconsider their strategy with the franchise. So the movie never saw the light of day.

Fortunately, thanks to the enormous success of Mandalorian, the door was wide open for a huge expansion of the franchise. And Boba Fett will finally have her moment in the limelight. There is no information about the distribution or the plot of the Boba Fett Book yet. We will of course keep you informed as soon as we have more information. The Mandalorian Empire Season 2 final is currently available on the Disney+ streaming application.
