Los Angeles (CBSLA) – Los Angeles County released an updated medical order Friday that paves the way for easing restrictions starting Monday, while San Bernardino and Ventura counties prepare for a possible transition to a less restrictive Orange State.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reported 692 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 74 additional fatal cases, bringing the countywide total to 1,220,849 and 23,235 fatal cases.

Of the new deaths, 29 were over the age of 80, 21 were between the ages of 65 and 79, 18 were between the ages of 50 and 64, three were between the ages of 30 and 49, and one was between the ages of 18 and 29. Long Beach added two tiles.

634 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, of whom 26% were treated in intensive care – a decrease from Thursday.

More than 4,000,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered to people throughout Los Angeles County, with 1,323,686 people receiving a second dose and 78,653 people receiving Johnson & Johnson’s unique vaccine. With test results for nearly 6,111,000 people, the district’s overall positivity rate remained steady at 19 percent, although the daily positivity rate was 1.4 percent. On Tuesday, the seven-day moving average was 1.5% and the adjusted number of cases was 3.1 new cases per 100,000 population.

A new Department of Health regulation takes effect Monday, allowing bars, breweries, distilleries and distilleries that do not serve food to open outside again, and allowing businesses with current licenses to increase their capacity inside. ORANGE COUNTRY

The Orange County Health Department has reported 90 new confirmed cases and six additional deaths, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 250,854 and 4,661 deaths. Of those who contracted the virus, 243,165 recovered.

One hundred and eighteen coronavirus patients were hospitalized, 23 of whom were treated in intensive care – a decrease from Thursday.

Nearly 527,500 people were fully vaccinated, including 498,243 with two-dose vaccines from Pfizer or Moderna and 29,185 with one-dose vaccines from Johnson & Johnson. For more information on who is eligible and how to make an appointment, please visit the District’s website.

With test results available for over 3,373,600 people, the overall positive rate was 7.4%. On Tuesday, the seven-day moving average was 1.7% and the adjusted number of cases was 2.8 new cases per 100,000 population.

COASTAL CIRCLE

Health officials in Riverside County reported 119 new confirmed cases and 26 additional deaths, bringing the county’s total to 294,736 cases and 4,362 deaths. Of those who contracted the virus, 287,836 recovered.

With the available test results from 2,735,800 individuals, the total percentage of positive cases was 10.8%. On Tuesday, the seven-day moving average was 2.3% and the adjusted number of cases was 4.1 new cases per 100,000 population.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY

San Bernardino County health officials reported 177 new confirmed cases and 63 additional deaths, bringing the county’s total to 291,199 cases and 4,099 deaths. Of those who contracted the virus, 285,932 have recovered.

118 coronavirus patients were hospitalized, 30 of whom were treated in intensive care, the same number as Thursday.

With test results for nearly 2,718,300 people, the total percentage of positive cases in the province was 10.7%. On Tuesday, the seven-day moving average was 2.1% and the adjusted number of cases was 3.8 new cases per 100,000 population. If the numbers hold up until Tuesday, the district could move to a less restrictive state of orange.

BOARD OF VENTURA

Ventura County health officials have reported 57 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two additional fatal cases, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 79,774 and 986 deaths. Of those who contracted the disease, 78,449 recovered.

Twenty-four coronavirus patients were hospitalized, six of whom were treated in intensive care – down from Thursday.

Ventura County reported the administration of 439,095 doses of COVID-19 vaccine: 284,708 first doses and 154,387 second doses. For more information on who is eligible and how to make an appointment, please visit the District’s website.

With test results for nearly 1,272,300 people, the overall positive rate was 6.2%. On Tuesday, the seven-day moving average was 1.8% and the adjusted number of cases was 3.9 new cases per 100,000 population. If the numbers hold up until Tuesday, the district could move to a less restrictive state of orange.
