Marvel Brings the X-Men’s Greatest Threat Back Online

For a while now you’ve been able to download the Marvel app on your Android or iOS devices, and now you can also buy their comics digitally. The app allows you to skip the wait for new issues by downloading the previous month’s issues, which is great for people who want to catch up on old stories but not have to wait for a physical copy.

In the comics, the villainous Apocalypse wanted to achieve the ultimate goal for mutants, he wanted to bring back all the dead mutants. No matter how many deaths, how many times we try to protect mutants we will always get threats in the comics. The mutant Apocalypse was one of the most powerful mutants of all times and even though many mutants were killed but through the help of Magneto and the X-Men he was defeated and was sent to the future.

Marvel Comics has just brought back to life the biggest threat to the X-Men and the mutant nation Krakoa. Next SPOILERS for X-Men #20 Jonathan Hickman, Francesco Mobili, Sonny Go, Clayton Cowles and Tom Mueller In the double miniseries House of X and X Force, which ushered in a new era of the X-Men and introduced Krakoa to the Marvel universe, Hickman revealed that Moira McTaggert is actually a mutant, Moira X. Every time she dies, the timeline is reset. But she might be in her last life. She remembers her past lives, including the fact that mutants are doomed if humanity creates intelligent artificial life. To prevent this from happening in the current timeline, Krakoa sent a team of X-Men to the orbital base of Orchis, a super-scientific organization made up of humanity’s worst minds and dedicated to the destruction of mutants. The X-Men team sacrificed their lives (and were reborn) to destroy the Mother Thunder built there. It was a victory, but only a partial one. The team could not prevent Dr. Alia Gregor from obtaining the technology she needed to create Nimrod, the perfect Guardian. (Photo: Marvel Comics) In X-Men #20, Professor X and Magneto send Mystique – who installed a Krakoan gate in Orchis Station in the first mission – to finish the job. Professor X and Magneto used the resurrection of Mystique’s wife Destiny as motivation for Mystique to accept these dangerous missions. What Mystique doesn’t know is that Professor X and Magneto, on Moira’s orders, have no intention of bringing Destiny or any other mutant with precognitive abilities to life. Mystic arrives too late to stop Nimrod. Gregor implants the memories and identity of her husband, who was killed during the X-Men infiltration, into the Guardian as she revives him. Nimrod quickly realizes that the incognito Mystique is a mutant. Mystique escapes, but Nimrod makes his own copy to launch Mystique’s black hole bomb into space. A copy prevents the destruction of Orchis and Nimrod’s Prime, which could guarantee Krakoa’s downfall, but Gregor’s husband disappears forever. This revelation could reveal the origin of Nimrod the Lesser, the version of Nimrod revealed in The Power of X that had a childlike nature. It’s possible that the constant flaws and destruction, as in X-Men #20, destroyed more and more of Nimrod’s original programming, leading to a less mature version of his personality in the future. Mystique returns to Krakoa, but dies of her injuries. She comes back to life, and Professor X and Magneto wait for confirmation that she failed to stop Nimrod, which serves as an excuse for them not to bring Destiny back. Later, Mystique recalls a prophecy Destiny told her before she died: There will be an island. Not the first, but the last. This place will seem like a lot to our species. When those days come, remember these words: TAKE ME BACK. And if you can’t… if they can’t… burn the place down. These inscriptions end on a page where Moira, in her nullity, reads the diaries of destiny, filled with prophecies. The last page of the issue announces Inferno, a new version of the main event of the 1980s X-Men crossover, this time based on the Destiny Books. Details will follow shortly. What do you think of the hell that’s coming? Let us know in the comments. X-Men #20 is in stores now.
