The Toronto Maple Leafs have won the East, they are the first team outside of the United States to make the Finals since the St. Louis Blues in 2010, and they swept the Montreal Canadiens in the process. So the question is can the Leafs win their first Stanley Cup since 1967? The Canadiens are also in the Finals for the first time since 2010. They took out the Boston Bruins in six games, but they were also swept in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2010.
How do these teams match up? After a hard fought seven-game series against the Boston Bruins, the Toronto Maple Leafs have advanced to the second round of the NHL Playoffs. Now, the young and upstart team will face the defending Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadiens. While the Maple Leafs did force a Game 7 against the Bruins, they were outmatched, and were only able to force that game seven because their goalie made an incredible game-saving save in overtime during Game 6. The Canadiens, meanwhile, swept their opponent, the New York Rangers. The Habs were able to keep the Rangers from scoring an even-strength goal in the entire series.

2. Marc-Andre Fleury, G, Vegas Golden Knights After two consecutive defeats, there was some doubt whether Fleury would start Game 7. He answered all those questions by making 18 saves, including 10 in a row in the final 30 minutes. Fleury now has 85 playoff wins to his credit and if he wins four more, the 17-year veteran will pass Billy Smith and Eddie Eagle Belfour to become the only fourth all-time. 
3. Shea Theodore, D, Vegas Golden Knights. After failing to score a goal in his first six games, Theodore handed out two assists in 22 minutes of ice time, but his influence didn’t stop there. According to Natural Stat Trick, when Theodore was on the ice with Nick Holden, both players controlled the game with an amazing 78% Corsi percentage. They also played with the Kaprizov-Viktor Rask-Mats Zuccarello line and didn’t score a single point on the power play (Kaprizov’s goal and Zuccarello’s assist came on the power play).

Question of the day: Rest or Rust?
The Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets still have a significant lead over their rivals, the Vegas Golden Knights and Maple Leafs, who won the Canadiens series. I tend to think that extra rest is always better for the team to be healthy, but it’s worth asking if that can lead to a slow start against an opponent with momentum.Montreal travels to Toronto in what should be a heated battle between two of the NHL’s best teams. Both teams are filled with young stars and players who have had long NHL careers. The two teams have played each other two times already this series and both games were very close. The Canadiens won game one by a score of 2-1 and the Maple Leafs won game two by a score of 3-2.
