Snake Eyes Goes Big in Exclusive G.I. Joe Origins IMAX Poster

Despite the fact that G.I. Joe is a toy-centric action movie that requires little explanation to the average movie-goer, it goes without saying that the film’s IMAX poster has been the talk of the town since it was unveiled a few weeks ago.

The wait is over, and G.I. Joe: Origins is finally here! After a long and convoluted production, a whole new generation of G.I. Joe characters—including Serpentor, Baroness, and Flint—have been brought to the big screen, giving fans a fresh, new take on the world of G.I. Joe.

In anticipation of the film’s national premiere in theaters on July 23, we are pleased to present an exclusive poster of the IMAX version of the film. According to the press release, the IMAX version of Eye of the Snake will be digitally remastered in both picture and sound as The IMAX Experience, using IMAX’s proprietary DMR technology. The crystal clear images, combined with the individual geometry of the IMAX theatre and the powerful digital sound, create a unique atmosphere that makes the audience feel like they are in the cinema.

Several trailers for the film Snake Eye have been released over the past few months. The new poster for the IMAX release shows the G.I. Joe character’s mask in the spotlight, but the film lets fans look behind the mask to see how the character came to life. This is especially interesting for fans of the franchise, as Snake Eyes has long been the most mysterious character in G.I. Joe, and the new film could provide answers to many old questions.

Snake Eyes is directed by Robert Schwentke to a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. Brian Goldner, Eric Housam and Lorenzo di Bonaventura were the producers. In the film, Henry Golding plays the unmasked, fan-favorite G.I. Joe. Snake Eyes is a prequel that serves as the origin story of the character. With Andrew Koji, Ursula Corbero, Samara Weaving and Iko Uwais.

Koji plays Storm Shadow, a member of the Arashikage and brother in arms to Snake Eyes, who eventually becomes his enemy. The film’s tagline is: A mysterious lone wolf known as Snake Eye is accepted and trained into an ancient Japanese ninja clan called the Arashikage, but his loyalty is tested when secrets from his past are revealed and he eventually becomes the famous hero G.I. Joe.

This is the third installment in the G.I. Joe film series, which began in 2009 with the original title G.I. Joe: Cobra Rising. A G.I. Joe Retaliation sequel followed in 2013, with Ray Park as the aging Snake Eyes in both films. Although there was once talk of Snake Eyes getting its own sequel, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said in May that several scripts for G.I. Joe 3 were in development.

Several scripts are currently in development, Bonaventure told Entertainment Weekly. The truth is, it could have come first if we had a good script, but we struggled. While we were wrestling, a really good snake-eye scenario came up.

He added: There is no doubt that G.I. Joe 3 is coming. We want to do the right thing. How soon? The question is still on the table, but no, Paramount is absolutely determined to release another Joe.

Snake Eyes will be released in IMAX theaters across the country on Friday, July 23. A new IMAX poster for the highly anticipated G.I. Joe prequel has been released by Paramount Pictures. IMAX tickets can be purchased here: IMAX.com.
