“Ground Control to Sara Lance” Synopsis Released

The CW has released the official synopsis for Ground Control to Sarah Lance, the first episode of the sixth season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will air the first week of May on The CW. The episode begins right after the events of the fifth season finale, when Sarah Lance (Katie Lotz) was abducted by aliens and the rest of the Legends unknowingly returned to Waverider. The season begins with the team trying to figure out what happened to their captain and Sarah trying to figure out how to get home to Ava (Jes Macallan) and the team.

Earlier today, the network also released the first set of images from the episode, mostly featuring characters in costumes from the end of season five, suggesting that many of them are from the first half of the episode, as the Legends try to figure out what’s going on. You can see them below.

Ground Control for Sarah Lance – (8:00-9:00 ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

MISSING CAPTAIN

After a night of celebrating their victory over the Fates legends, they soon discover that Sarah (Katie Lotz) has disappeared. As she tries to defend herself, Legends learns to her dismay that she has been abducted by aliens. Ava (Jes Macallan) sends Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) on a quest to find someone who can help them find Sarah, while Constantine (Matt Ryan) tries to use his magic. Meanwhile, Sarah does her best to escape, which means releasing aliens into the timeline, but she’s shocked when she learns who one of her captors turns out to be. Nick Zano, Tala Ash, Olivia Swann, Adam Zeckham and Lisset Chavez are also on hand. Kevin Mock directed the episode, which was written by James Egan and Mark Bruner.

…and here’s the official synopsis of the season itself:

After tracking down Fate last season to bring back their slain comrades, the Legends must now save history from an enemy they’ve never seen in the past or future. Waverider ship captains Sarah Lance (Katie Lotz) and Ava Sharp (Jes Macallan) have had to deal with monsters, temporal anomalies and, most recently, villains from hell, but this season they must deal with something even more complex and bizarre….. Space aliens.

After one of them is kidnapped by a ruthless alien, this new mission becomes personal. It will take more than the combined forces of dark wizard John Constantine (Matt Ryan), half-formed arsonist Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), steel-turned historian Nate Heywood (Nick Zano), and ventriloquist siblings Zara Tarazi (Tala Ash) and Behrad Tarazi (Shayan Sobhyan) to save the world for the sixth time. They must recruit a new legend, a woman who was abducted by aliens as a child and is said to possess powers that will help the team defeat their intergalactic enemies. Either that or she’s just crazy. …. Based on DC characters, DC LEGENDS OF TOMORROW from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros.
