3. Juuse Saros, G, Nashville Predators.

In Game 6, Saros made 27 saves, many of which were very difficult before the winning goal was scored. He led the Predators to the playoffs and finished the season with a .921 save percentage. He has been driving the bus for us, so to speak, for the past few months. He deserves all the praise he gets, defenseman Ryan Ellis said.

Alex Galchenyuk has had many chances to shine on the Maple Leafs’ resurgent team. It wasn’t one of them. Galchenyuk passed the puck directly to Cole Cofield, who went on an inexcusable 2-on-0 run to end the game 59 seconds into overtime. I think it’s just like any other mistake you make. You want the player to see the error, put it away and move on. Hockey is a game of mistakes, Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe said.

Quote of the day

We’re gonna win this game. We haven’t had a fan in a while, so it will be interesting. But this is another chance for us to end this series.

— Toronto Maple Leafs star Aston Matthews, when asked how he would play in Game 6 in front of a small crowd in Montreal.
