LeBron James Sends Strong Message to Lakers After Injury

LeBron James tried to comfort his Lakers teammates after injuring his ankle.

LeBron James is definitely out with a sprained ankle, but the legend wasted no time in sending a message to his Los Angeles Lakers teammates. James admitted he was hurting inside and out after missing time with the Lakers.

Nothing makes me angrier or sadder than not being there for and with my teammates! I’m hurting inside and out right now. ️♂, tweeted James. The road back to recovery begins now. I’ll be right back, like I never left. #ThekidfromAKRON

The Lakers have not yet announced an exact timetable for James’ return, but it is expected to take at least two weeks. Bill Oram of The Athletic thinks James could be suspended for up to six weeks, depending on the severity of the injury.

An ankle sprain probably means at least two weeks, but depending on the severity of the sprain, it could be six weeks or more, Oram said. The nature of the sprain – the fact that it is a sprain, the opposite of a normal sprain where the ankle rolls outward from the foot – complicates matters. Because James has his ankle bent to the opposite side, it is possible that there will be bruising to the top of the fibula when he punches the ankle. It’ll be even harder to get back from there.

Montrezl Harrell eliminated Solomon Hill: Male pigeon having his ball snatched from under his feet

James injured his ankle after Hawks center Solomon Hill collided with his foot on a loose ball. Not everyone thinks the game was clean, as several of James’ teammates came to his defense, including Lakers great Montrezl Harrell.

The man dove for the ball and pulled his foot out from under it, Harrell told ESPN. I really don’t feel like it was one of those freestyle games. He had to go through his leg to get the ball, man. He was turned on his side. The ball was behind him. I mean, if you jump diagonally and cross the street, I don’t know how you feel about it being a balloon.

Lakers face big decisions with James and Davis Seidelandtrade deadline just days away

James is the latest Lakers star to suffer a serious injury, following Anthony Davis. Two of the Lakers’ best players are now sidelined, and it will be interesting to see how general manager Rob Pelinka handles the upcoming NBA trade deadline. Los Angeles has been linked to several great players, including Cavs center Andre Drummond, but also needs a shooter.

James’ absence still leaves a void on the wing that will not be replaced on the open market or in the takeover market. Prior to James’ injury, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported that the Lakers would rather wait until the trade deadline and wait for players to become available on the buyout market. It will be interesting to see how James’ injury affects this strategy.

I’ll start by saying that given the makeup of the Lakers’ roster and their position in the salary cap, they’re more likely to be buyout candidates than trade targets for the Lakers, McMenamin explained in Saut. Because if they have to take away some of their young talent to make a trade, they will find themselves in a difficult position this summer.
