While there was no official site for the 2021 NBA All-Star Game yet and the game itself has not been confirmed, voting can be done for the All-Star teams themselves. Fans can vote for players who deserve to be All-Stars, and there are many qualified candidates. Many players have had good seasons, so the All-Star ballot will be filled with different names.
While many players are of the caliber of the All-Stars, only 10 players are starters for a potential game. The starting spots are determined by a combination of votes from fans, media and players. Here are our departure predictions for each conference.
Start of Eastern Conference
Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid.
Kyrie Irving’s departure to the leadership position in the Eastern Conference is almost a foregone conclusion. His style of play is very conducive to making star sets: Fans love the smooth handles and insulation, and Kyrie Irving brings both. It currently has an average of 27.9 PMOs, 4.8 BIPs, and 5.8 GPAs. These are the numbers of All-NBA players, and since the Brooklyn Nets are one of the most exciting teams in the league, Irving is sure to get a lot of votes from fans. Combine fans who love her dribble with others who respect her basketball skills, and you understand why Kyrie Irving is the preferred choice.
Jaylen Brown is having a huge breakout season, averaging 27.1 PPGs, 5.6 RPGs and 3.5 APGs. Jaylen Brown is known as an excellent two-way winger and has had a great breakout season. Since the Boston Celtics are a big market, Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown will likely be All-Stars, but from a pure basketball standpoint, Jalen Brown is preferable as a starter. Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most popular players in the league and also one of the most talented. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s trademark is to throw himself at his opponent, and in a game that emphasizes blitz, that’s clearly what fans want to see. Giannis Antetokounmpo was MVP last year, and it looks like he will continue his performance in the regular season: 26.8 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 5.6 PPG are his stats for the season. Giannis Antetokounmpo will be an All-Star this year: He was captain of the All-Star team the last two years, so it would make sense that he would be an All-Star.
Joel Embiid is MVP with the Philadelphia 76ers, and there is no better center in the Eastern Conference. The 76ers are playing through Joel Embiid, and his numbers reflect that: He is coming off a season of 27.7 PPG, 11.1 RPG and 2.8 APG in 2020-21. Embiid is also a popular social media personality, often known for his hilarious antics on Twitter. Joel Embiid plays out of position, has a huge fan base and is the best center in the east: All of these factors should put him in a starting position for a possible All-Star game.
Start of Western Conference
Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Nikola Jokic.
Stephen Curry’s name alone should explain why he’s a starter. Curry’s praise aside, he’s a fun player to watch: deep threes, floats above two defenders, the wizard of the pens. We could go on and on about why Stephen Curry is fascinated by basketball. Stephen Curry returns to these numbers, as 27.7 PPGs, 5.4 RPGs and 6.0 RPGs are elite numbers for the All-Star. While the Warriors are currently in ninth place. Placed in the Western Conference, they should be back in the preliminaries soon. Stephen Curry is one of the most popular players in the league and is widely considered the best point guard in the NBA. There’s no reason why he shouldn’t be the starter.
Damian Lillard is a very interesting player. Lillard is currently without his running mate C.J. McCollum. So Damian Lillard raised the stakes and put on a show. Lillard is currently averaging 28.8 SGA, 4.8 SGA and 7.1 SGA. The second spot on the defensive line in the Western Conference was pretty much reserved for James Harden prior to this season. But with Harden’s exclusion from the Western Conference, that position is vacant. Damian Lillard did his starter thing: It’s a sniper’s bullet.
LeBron James is still the best player in the world, so he’ll probably be an All-Star. James is currently averaging 25.5 PPGs, 7.8 RPGs and 7.5 PPGs. LeBron James is a versatile attacker who can do anything on the basketball court. The Lakers are doing well and LeBron James is having a good season: That makes him a safe bank for the game because of his skills and his status as a legend in the NBA community. LeBron James is the best of the best, and he’s clearly going to get a lot of votes from fans.
Kawhi Leonard will likely be the starter, as he is the Los Angeles Clippers’ best player and one of the best offensive players in the game. Leonard’s shot is elite, and he’s a player who can claim to have beaten LeBron James in the last game. Kawhi Leonard is averaging 25.9 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 5.7 APG this season. Leonard has had a successful career in PNG and still runs his own business. Although he has an unremarkable presence for a superstar, Leonard is always deadly on the field, and based on his skills, there is no doubt that he deserves the job. Leonard is also likely to get a lot of votes from fans of the Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors.
Nikola Jokic turned into a three-masted ship. Nikola Jokic is the best midfielder in the Western Conference and the best passer in the league. Nikola Jokic’s stats are those of an elite: 25.2 PPG, 11.8 RPG and 8.9 APG are excellent credentials for a center and the kind of numbers you expect from your superstar. Jokic’s passing game is superb, and his post game is elite. Nikola Jokic is in the running for MVP, and he’s a unique player that fans love. Most players eligible for MVP honors finish the all-star game and Jokic is no different.
